In August 2018, Anime Fansub Brasil, a now-defunct Brazil-based platform that hosted fan-made Brazilian subtitles for anime, suffered a data breach affecting more than 5000 unique records. The exposed data included email addresses and MD5 hashed passwords. The compromised information was later shared on a prominent hacking forum.
