About This Breach
In August 2026, Chess.com, the largest online chess platform, was affected by a data scrape exposing approximately 7.3 million records (around 4.6 million unique email addresses). The scraped data contained email addresses, usernames, first and last names, countries, and public profile details such as ratings, membership status and join dates. No passwords were included, as the data was scraped rather than breached. The records were distributed via Telegram, originally posted by the actor V0idix.
