About This Breach
Creaders (creaders.net), a major overseas-Chinese news and community portal, was affected by a data breach originating from its 'digest' subdomain (digest.creaders.net) that exposed a set of user login credentials. This is a distinct subdomain from the separately-tracked Creaders Column (column.creaders.net) source. The compromised data consisted of email addresses together with passwords stored as unsalted MD5 hashes. The records were distributed through a hacking forum and subsequently shared via Telegram channels.
