In September 2021, Epik experienced a substantial data breach, reportedly as a response to its hosting of alt-right websites. The breach resulted in the exposure of extensive data, encompassing not only information pertaining to Epik's customers but also scraped WHOIS records of individuals and organizations unrelated to Epik.
