In June 2019, a dataset was posted on a prominent hacking forum. FFXI Accounts, a now-defunct U.S.-based online gaming marketplace where users could sell, trade, and buy Final Fantasy XI accounts, suffered a data breach that affected 180,780 users. The compromised data included email addresses and plaintext passwords.
