In August 2018, Goldium Cruceros, the now-defunct website of an online travel agency specializing in luxury cruise bookings and operated under Travel Flag SL, based in Burgos, Spain, suffered a data breach that affected 75,346 users. The compromised data included email addresses and plaintext passwords. Travel service providers must never store passwords in plaintext and should adopt secure, salted hashing mechanisms.
