About This Breach
In June 2020, the media and entertainment news website Mashable suffered a data breach that exposed approximately 1.4 million records. The breach, which surfaced publicly in November 2020, exposed email addresses, usernames, first and last names, IP addresses, genders, dates of birth and geographic locations. Most accounts authenticated through linked social media (OAuth) providers rather than passwords, so password data was not meaningfully exposed. The data was distributed online and later shared via Telegram.
