About This Breach
In January 2021, MCSell, a now-defunct U.S.-based Minecraft-focused digital marketplace and community forum for buying, selling, and trading Minecraft-related assets and services, suffered a data breach that impacted nearly 16,000 users. The compromised data included email addresses and usernames. Although no passwords were reported compromised, the exposure of emails linked to usernames still poses a risk of phishing attacks and targeted scams within the gaming community.
