In September 2014, the RuneScape bot site Powerbot experienced a data breach, leading to the compromise of more than half a million unique user records. The exposed data included email and passwords stored as salted MD5 hashes. Prior to this incident, the compromised status of the site had been documented in the breached database directory at Vigilante.pw.
