About This Breach
In 2018, Exactis, a Florida-based data aggregation and marketing firm, exposed a database of approximately 340 million records after leaving an ElasticSearch instance publicly accessible without authentication. The exposed information contained extensive personal and behavioral data on consumers and businesses, including full names, physical mailing addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, dates of birth, IP addresses and hundreds of demographic and interest attributes. No passwords, financial data or Social Security numbers were exposed. This record set is a slice of approximately 56.5 thousand U.S. consumer records drawn from that exposure and circulated via Telegram breach-trading channels.
