About This Breach
In early 2017, Freedom Hosting II, at the time the largest host of Tor hidden services, was hacked and taken offline and its databases were dumped publicly. The breach exposed user accounts from thousands of hosted dark-web sites, including approximately 102 thousand records containing email addresses, usernames and password hashes (phpass, SHA-256 and MD5). The records were distributed via Telegram, having originally been shared on a cybercrime forum.
