In August 2018, Loja Esoterica Virtual, a now defunct Brazilian educational and ecommerce platform specializing in theosophy and esotericism, experienced a data breach involving over 12,000 thousand records. The exposed information included around 6000 unique email addresses and either plaintext or MD5 hashed and salted passwords. The compromised data was later posted on a prominent hacking forum.
