About This Breach

In 2025, the Obstetrical & Gynaecological Society of Malaysia (OGSM), the national professional body for obstetricians and gynaecologists in Malaysia, suffered a data breach after its membership database (ogsm.org.my) was exposed and later distributed via a Telegram channel. The database contained the personal and professional records of approximately 2,100 members. Each record included the member's full name, email address, Malaysian national identity number (IC / MyKad), passport number, gender, salted password hash, mobile and office telephone numbers, home address, medical degrees and qualifications, academic institution, nationality and membership details. The Malaysian IC/MyKad and passport numbers are recorded as national identifiers (not US Social Security Numbers). The records were circulated among breach-trading Telegram channels. No precise compromise date has been established; the date reflects the most recent record-activity timestamp observed in the data.
