About This Breach
In December 2013 and January 2014, Snapchat, the mobile photo-messaging service, suffered a data breach after a security group exploited a previously disclosed vulnerability in its find-friends API. Approximately 4.6 million user records were scraped and published on the website SnapchatDB.info. The exposed data contained Snapchat usernames and their associated mobile phone numbers, with the final two digits of each phone number masked. The records were posted publicly for download and later redistributed through Telegram.
