About This Breach
In July 2024, hacktivists released almost 2GB of data belonging to The Heritage Foundation and their media outlet, The Daily Signal. This breach exposed 72,000 unique email addresses, mainly used by individuals commenting on articles and content contributors. In addition to email addresses, the leaked data included names, IP addresses, and the comments left by users, while content contributors had their usernames and passwords revealed, stored either as MD5 or phpass hashes. This breach underscores the necessity of robust cybersecurity measures to prevent unauthorized access and protect sensitive information.
