How to run your first breach scan

Step-by-step guide to scanning your email for data breach exposure with LeakedSource.

Running your first scan takes less than a minute and doesn't require an account.

Step 1: Enter your email on the homepage

Go to the LeakedSource homepage and enter your email address in the scan box. We check your email — and the network you're scanning from — against our full breach index.

Step 2: Review your results

Your scan results show how many breaches your email appears in and which breach sources are affected. This tells you at a glance whether your accounts are at risk.

Step 3: Create an account for details

A free account unlocks more depth: you can see the specific data types exposed in each breach (passwords, phone numbers, addresses, and so on), run up to 5 searches per day, and set up monitoring for up to 2 identities so you're alerted about future breaches automatically.

Step 4: Act on what you find

If a breach exposed one of your passwords, change it immediately on the affected service — and anywhere else you reused it. See What to do if your data was leaked for a complete checklist.

What if my scan comes back clean?

A clean scan is great news, but it isn't a guarantee — new breaches surface constantly. Setting up monitoring means we'll watch on your behalf and email you the moment your data appears in a newly indexed breach.
