About This Breach
In January 2026, Figure, a US fintech lending platform (Figure Technology Solutions / Figure Lending) offering HELOCs and crypto-backed personal loans, was affected by a data breach exposing approximately 967,000 records. The compromised data included email addresses, first and last names, phone numbers, dates of birth and physical addresses, and for funded loans also included Social Security numbers and loan details such as amounts and status. Figure confirmed the incident and attributed it to a social engineering attack in which an employee was tricked into providing access. The data was published online by the threat actor ShinyHunters after a ransom was not paid, and was distributed via Telegram.
