About This Breach
In February 2026, Mercer Advisors, a United States wealth-management and financial-advisory firm, suffered a data breach after the threat actor group ShinyHunters exfiltrated internal client data and the firm declined to pay the demanded ransom. The stolen data, exported from the firm's client-relationship-management system, exposed detailed records on clients and prospects including full names, email addresses, phone numbers, mailing addresses, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, tax identification numbers and financial details such as income and net worth. The records were subsequently leaked and distributed via Telegram.
