In July 2024, the old official online portal for the New South Wales Government Department of Education and Training suffered a data breach affecting around 99,000 records. The exposed information included close to 3000 unique email addresses, full names, and bcrypt hashed passwords. The dataset was later posted on a Telegram channel.
