About This Breach
In June 2026, a large corpus of Indonesian civil-registration data attributed to Dukcapil (Direktorat Jenderal Kependudukan dan Pencatatan Sipil, the Directorate General of Population and Civil Registration under Indonesia's Ministry of Home Affairs) was distributed via Telegram. The dataset holds more than 11 million population records covering the full provinces of East Java (Jawa Timur) and Central Java (Jawa Tengah) together with the regions of Bandung, Bekasi, South Jakarta, Medan and Yogyakarta. Each record contained a citizen's 16-digit NIK national identity number, full name, residential address, village/district/city, phone number, date of birth and gender. No passwords or email addresses were present. The underlying data is believed to originate from the 2023 Dukcapil population-registry leak and was re-circulated on Telegram in 2026. The records were distributed via Telegram.
